Leeds League Premiership:
York Vikings 65
- Bradford Maroons 74
17 October 2024

Having started the season with two victories including the win against the reigning league champion, the Vikings Prem team hosted the Bradford Maroons, looking to stay unbeaten.
The visiting team, that had won the D1 last season and got promoted showed that they were a strong team. Besides some strong play by the Vikings, the Maroons stayed close in the first quarter. The Vikings managed to eke out a 2 point lead, for a score of 17-15.
The second quarter continued well for both teams, but the Vikings managed to go on 12 - 2 run in the middle of the 2nd quarter (between 3rd and 7th minute). This helped the Vikings take the quarter 22 - 17 and overall taking the first half 39 - 32.
The York team continued playing well in the first three minutes of the 2nd half going on a 6 - 2 run to increase the lead to 11 points and a score of 45 - 34. However, the Maroons managed to recover, increase the defensive pressure and win key offensive rebounds. After a few mistakes by the home team, the inexperience of Vikings as a team (with a number of players only having joined in the middle of September) showed. The team from Bradford took advantage of this and went on a 27 - 5 run to close out the quarter and win it in a dominating 29 - 11, and take an 11 point overall lead.
Despite the Vikings struggles and disunity during that run, the quality of the players showed in the last quarter and Vikings managed to win the last quarter, by 2 points. However, this was not enough to recover the point difference.
Game MVP: Dimitris Armelinos
Notes: David Joseph made his first three pointer with Vikings.
