Leeds League Premiership:
Deighton Ryders 89
- York Vikings 73

The York Vikings Prem team was back in action travelling to face the Deighton Ryders, last years league runner ups and Playoff champions. With a number of players not available for the game the Vikings travelled with only 7 players.

The first quarter was competitive with both teams playing good offence and exchanging baskets. Adam Wright led the charge early on, with Pat Mackle starting to get into the game at the end of the quarter. With the strong performance by both teams, the Ryders just managed to take the first quarter with a score 21 - 20.

Early in the second quarter, Adam Wright continued his scoring, by hitting his first 3 of the season. However, the game quickly turned sour, with Pat Mackle (Vikings season leading scorer at 22.6 ppg) incurred a severe shoulder injury and had to leave to go to A&E. Lloyd Bickerstaffe shortly followed with an injury to his leg and was out of the game as well. This meant that the team was left with 5 players to continue the rest of the game. This resulted with Deighton winning the third quarter 32 - 13 and having a half time lead of 53 - 33.

The Vikings managed to get themselves hyped at half time and with Ross Paterson and Oliver Barlow picking up some of the scoring slack, having career highs of 11 and 10 points (for the game) respectively with the Vikings. Dimitris Armelinos contributing on the offensive end, Adam Wright taking it inside and Anthony Holdsworth keeping the ball moving and getting stops on the defensive end, the Vikings managed to win the third quarter 21-20.

Despite being only 5 players, the Vikings kept going and also managed to win the final quarter 19 - 16. However, despite the valiant effort, it was not enough to erase the deficit from the third quarter.

Notes: Adam Wright had a career high of 31 points with the Vikings.

Game MVP: Adam Wright
