Vikings D2 team, hosted the White Vipers of Spen Valley. Having won a tough game away, the Vikings were looking to win both regular season games.

The first quarter started out low scoring with both teams having difficulty navigating the defences. The teams managed to match the scoring and the quarter ended 12 points each.

The offence of Vikings improved in the second quarter, however the Vipers managed to match the home team throughout most of the quarter. A quick 4 point finish for the York team at the end of the quarter gave the Vikings take the lead going into half time. Half time score: 30 - 26.

The second half started similar to the first half, with the team exchanging baskets for the first 6 minutes. However, after that the Vipers kept attacking the basket and either scoring or being fouled. This led to the visiting team going on a 8 - 0 run to take a 5 point lead, before Jamie Boynton hit 1 of 2 free throws and Andy Capes capped it of with a 3 pointer to make it a 1 point game.

However, the Vikings once again struggled to contain the physical inside game of the Vipers fouling quite a bit to begin the 4th quarter. Vipers took advantage of this and went on a 6 - 0 run in the first 5 minutes opening the lead up to 7 points. Matt Theakstone with his 2 points managed to stop the run and following that the 11 point outburst by Andy Capes and a basket by Anthony Holdsworth brought the Vikings within 1 point with 1 minute left. With the Vikings trying to stop the clock in the last minute, kept sending the away team to the line. Despite the Vipers only making 2 of 8 free throws in the last minute, Vikings could not score a basket and thus Spen Valley held on to get the win.
