Team 2 played the first game of the new year hosting Queensbury Hawks. After going to overtime in the last meeting between the teams, Vikings were hoping to get the first win of the season.

However, with their two tallest players missing, it was a tough task. The game started out well for the team, going ahead in the first 5 minutes 6 - 2. After a timeout however the Hawks went on a 11 - 4 run to take the first quarter 13 - 10.

After switching to a zone, the second quarter started with Vikings going ahead once again with a 9 - 4 run. Hawks managed to find a way through the zone in the second part of the quarter and only lose the quarter by 1 point. Half time score 28 - 26 for the away team.

The second half was another close quarter with the teams exchanging baskets, but Queensbury managed to eke out a 2 point advantage for the quarter.

The last quarter continued to be hard fought over. The Vikigns quickly committed four fouls, despite a good offense, ended up struggling to stop Hawks due Team fouls and the away team being quite accurate from the line. With a minute to go Hawks were ahead with 2 points forcing Vikings to intentionally foul to stop the clock. In both instances Hawks went 1 of 2, but Vikings were unable to capitalize in the end an thus were unable to break their losing streak.

Notes: Anthony Holdsworth led the team with a season high 14 points. Every player scored, being only the second time this season, with the other time also coming against Queensbury Hawks.
