Team 2 final game of the 2023 was at home against the Spen Valley Vipers 2.

Trying to get the game of to a good start, the Vikings started out with an intense man to man defence and successfully limiting the Vipers to 10 points. On offense the team kept focused and moved the ball well, however every player seriously struggled to make a shot resulting in only scoring 6 points.

In the 2nd quarter Vikings managed to score 5 points in the first minute alone. However, after that point the home team could not put an offense together and started turning the ball over at a high rate, allowing the Vipers to counter with quick points, Vikings went on their longest ever run of not scoring a point, lasting for 10 minutes (going into the second half). Half time score was 33 - 11 for Vipers.

In the second half the first point was scored on a free throw by Matthew Theakstone in the 2nd minute. However, that was it until the end of the 4th minute. In a 14 minute time span, Vipers outscored Vikings 36 - 1.

A time out and a desire to make a respectable game out of this, meant the team returned to the court with a renewed focus. The turnovers were reduced and there was a revived effort on defence. Sam Taylor started the revival by making the first field goal for the team after 14 minutes, Vikings went on to win the final 5 minutes of the quarter 14 - 11.

The team continued with the same effort in the fourth quarter to win the final quarter 20 - 16. However, the gap was to big and Spen Valley took a clear win home.
