First Team 2 travelled to Holmfirth, to play the Division Winner Holme Valley Demons, for their quarter final match up.

Vikings played well defensively and managed to control the pace against a strong Demons team. With a couple of big 3's including a season first 3 pointer by Dan Day (and only second of his career) the York team stayed in the game. However, a few costly turnovers meant that Demons took the first quarter 16:11.

The second quarter was very similar to the first, plus Vikings struggled to hit from the outside, allowing Demons to cloak the lanes and controlling more and more rebounds. Also Vikings kept turning over the ball allowing for the home team to make some easy baskets. The second quarter went 21 - 13 to Demons and this meant a half time score of 37 - 24 for Holme Valley.

The second quarter was just a continuation from the first half and Demons once again went ahead to win the quarter 15 - 8 and take a 20 point lead in the last quarter.

The home team decided to increase the pressure in the last quarter and went half court man to man, causing more turnovers from Vikings. Already having a clear rebounding advantage they managed to keep Vikings of the boards entirely for the last quarter, allowing for second and third opportunities in their offense. As a result Demons took a clear win and ended the York Vikings 2 season.
