15 February 2026

Vikings seconds were back in action and travelled to the Spen Valley to face a strong Vipers first team, that was second in the league.
The Vikings zone defence allowed for some occasional disruption to the Vipers offence, however their quality showed and they still managed to score 23 points in the quarter. Vikings still managed to put a good offensive performance led by Vali Moldovan who scored 9 of the 18 Vikings points in the quarter.
The second quarter continued to be a high scoring affair for both teams. Vipers once again managed to score 23 points. Vikings kept it close with a balanced offensive effort and scoring 21 points.
Half time score 46 - 39 for Vipers.
Spen Valley came out strong after the half time break hitting a number of big three to break the zone employed by the Vikings. The Vikings switched to a man defence. However, the individual offensive skills severely outmatched the York defenders increasing the gap even more. A switch back to zone eventually slowed down the bleeding. However, Vikings lost the quarter 31 - 16, giving the Vipers a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter.
The home team continued to play well in the final quarter scoring 19 points, while Vikings showed improvement after the disastrous 3rd quarter scoring 15 points.
Notes: Vali Moldovan had a Viking career high 18 points.
Game MVP: Vali Moldovan
