York Vikings Basketball Club
LBL Division 2:
Calderdale Hawks (1) 76
- York Vikings (2) 49
27 November 2025

Vikings seconds were back in action facing Calderdale Hawks away. The Vikings were looking for a better result from their previous home defeat to the Hawks.
The York team however was not able to get off to a good start. Vikings seriously struggled hitting their shots, but were also bothered by the very good half court defence of the Hawks. This resulted in Vikings only scoring 5 points in the entire quarter. The missed shots and turnovers, plus a very accurate Calderdale team allowed meant the home team scored 21 points.
Things for the away team looked much better in the second quarter. Adrian Kam, with a great offensive showing (scoring 10 points in the quarter) allowed for the Vikings to play at the Hawks lever and win the 2nd quarter 16 - 15.
Vikings continued with their improved play throughout the 3rd quarter, but Hawks still played an excellent game. As a result, Hawks managed to build on their lead by winning the 3rd quarter 21 - 16.
Hawks consistency in their defence and offence did not let down in the final quarter. Although Vikings played better than in the start of the game, they could not maintain the level of play of the previous 2 quarters. As a result the Hawks also won the last quarter, with a score of 19 - 12 to take a convincing win.
Notes: Matt Theakstone had a season high 10 points, while Jacob Cosquer had a career high 14 points with Vikings. Both players contributed on both ends of the floor. Adrian Kam's put in an excellent performance with 17 points, a career best with Vikings as well.
Game MVP: Adrian Kam
