After a narrow defeat in Holmfirth the prior week, Vikings desperately needed a win to stay out of the relegation zone. Vikings hosted the Cougars.

Both teams started out the game strong on the defensive end while also keeping the game at a slow pace. The home team managed to get a bit of separation in the last couple of minutes to win the first quarter 12 - 9.

Vikings continued with their run in the first 7 minutes of the 2nd quarter, scoring 11 point versus only 3 by they Cougars. As such the York team had now a 11 point lead. However, Cougars eventually managed to adjust and went on a 9 - 4 run to close out the quarter and close the gap down to 6 again. Half time score 27 - 21 for Vikings.

The low scoring continued in the 2nd half of the game. Both defences kept it tight and apart for a small run in the middle of the quarter for the Cougars, the game was quite even. Due that little run, Cougars won the quarter 14 - 10, and brought the game back within 2 points for the start of the final quarter.

With all to play for the Vikings started the quarter furiously, keeping Cougars from scoring and going on a 8 - 1 run in the first 3 minutes. Cougars called a time out, which helped stop the Vikings momentum. After the time out the Cougars quickly scored 2 baskets to close the gap again, before Ali Lyons hit a 3. Cougars kept attacking and managed in the 8th minute with a big three to close the gap to 4. However, Ali Lyons hit 2 back to back threes to secure the win.

Notes: This was Ali Lyons career best 6th consecutive game scoring double figures. Jonathan Wetherley had his best performance with 11 points for Team 1.
