HBA Championship:
York Vikings 69
Hull Hornets East 47
19 March 2025

York Vikings were looking to build on their win last week and went to Hull to face the Hornets East.
Both teams were figuring each other out in the first quarter with each team exchanging baskets. Hornets managed to eke out a lead with a 12 - 11 first quarter score.
However, Vikings seemed to adjust well after the first quarter limiting the Hornets to 8 points. The Hull team struggled to contain the Viking onslaught, especially Dan Day, fouling him repeatedly in an effort to stop him. The Hack-a-Shaq strategy against Dan Day did not work as Dan made 6 of his 8 free throws. The Vikings took advantage on this and won the second quarter 22 - 8, making for a half time score of 33 - 20 for the team from York.
Vikings continued their strong offensive play in the second half. Hornets managed to find their offensive flow as well, but Vikings took the next quarter as well 21 - 17.
Despite a strong lead the Vikings didn't led up in the 4th quarter, winning the last period by 6 points to take the game.
Notes: Nelvin Lau's balanced scoring across all quarter led him to have a career high 22 points with Vikings.
Game MVP: Nelvin Lau
