On Sunday the 7th of April 2024, the Leeds League Division 2 season ended with the Play-Off Final. Holme Valley Demons 1 were the League Winners, whilst Harrogate Raiders 1 managed to win the Play-Offs.

York Vikings 2 Season:

The majority of the players from the previous season returned. The team got boosted by the addition of Dan Day (C), who returned after a 1 season absence, and Tom Lindley (F).

The first match of the season was against, the eventual Division 2 league champions, Holme Valley Demons 1. Vikings were clearly overmatched and lost the opener. This was followed up by the biggest loss of the season against Bingley Titans. Things slowly started improving over the next two games with close games against Halifax Cobras and Harrogate Raiders 1, before the first meeting with local rivals Jorvik Warriors 1. In the previous season all 3 of the Vikings - Warriors games were won by the Vikings. This season, however, the Jorvik Warriors 1 team had massively improved and clearly won the game. Vikings tried to recover and managed to play competitively against East Leeds Eagles, Queensbury Hawks (twice) and Halifax Cobras. Vikings 2 also had clear loses against Spen Valley Vipers 2 (two games), Harrogate Raiders 1 and Holme Valley Demons 1. At this point Vikings 2 had a 0-13 record, and were on a 17 game losing streak, having also lost the last 4 games of the previous season. The next game was against East Leeds Eagles, who had only 1 win and that was a close win against the Vikings. Vikings put a strong game together to take the first win of the season. The following game was against Bingley Titans who had given Vikings the worst defeat of the season so far. Vikings managed to avenge that game and win in the final seconds of that game by 2 points. The final regular season game was against Jorvik Warriors 1. Following the 2 wins, Vikings were hopeful the could shock Jorvik Warriors 1 in their return match up. However, Warriors were well prepared and Vikings lost for the second time this season, against the local rival.

The final season record was 2 - 14, with an 8th place finish.

In the play offs, Vikings 2 played League Winners Holme Valley Demons 1. The result was similar to the regular season and Vikings bowed out in the Quarter Finals.
